Denise Snyder

Denise Snyder is currently the Director for Learning Technologies and Environments (LTE) at Union College. She and her LTE team adhere to the underlying philosophy that behind every good learning tool—be it an online course, webinar, simulation, or app—is good instructional design. The best instructional designers and educational technology professionals are agile and adaptable; they can quickly synthesize unfamiliar content, evaluate new technologies, and develop learning solutions that best meet the needs of diverse audiences while architecting meaningful learning experiences. Denise also instructs "Introduction to Instructional Design" at the Harvard Extension School each fall (a graduate course within the Digital Media Arts and Instructional Design concentration for the the ALM in Information Technology program). In addition, prior to working at Union College, Denise worked two years at Empire State College's School for Graduate Studies as Lead Instructional Designer where she developed a series of online master and graduate certificate degree programs, including the MA in Learning and Emerging Technologies and the MA in Adult Learning programs. She also spent 10+ years directly supporting instructional technology at Harvard Law School–her final position serving as Senior Academic Technologies Analyst and Project Manager.
