I am an economist with strong interests in history (a discipline straddling the humanities/social sciences line), cities and the "creative class," and religion. Story telling is integral to all of these, though economists often don't know it. Humanities disciplines are not frills: I've enjoyed teaching two of our standard ID courses at Union--first-year preceptorial and sophomore research seminar; both have diverse readings--and served as Union's first writing-across-the-curriculum director.
